Volunteer with us

You don't have to
be Bear Grylls.

We'll find you something that fits. Most of us are just parents who put their hand up once and never quite put it down.

Six ways in

Pick a role. Or pick a few.

1 evening / week

Section helper

Hand out biscuits, help with games, hold the end of a rope. No experience needed.

I could do that →
1 evening / week + planning

Assistant leader

Run a chunk of the night, learn the ropes, work toward Wood Badge if you fancy it.

I could do that →
~2 hours / month

Treasurer / trustee

Behind-the-scenes admin: spreadsheets, accounts, decisions. Not in a muddy field. Honest.

I could do that →
Once a term

Skill nights

Got a thing you can teach? Climbing, baking, fishing, first aid, fire-lighting — come do one night.

I could do that →
Saturdays, ad-hoc

Hut maintenance

Painting, sanding, fixing. There's always a project. Bring a flask.

I could do that →
A few weekends

Camp & event helper

Cooking for 30 over a fire. Driving the minibus. Counting heads. Camp legend stuff.

What you get back

Real training. Real skills. A pub on Wednesday nights.

Free training

Safeguarding, first aid, leadership, outdoor skills — paid for, recognised qualifications.

DBS sorted

We do the paperwork and pay for it. You sign a few forms.

Insurance covered

You're insured to lead activities, drive minibuses, run camps.

The pub on Wednesday

Genuinely the best bit. Don't tell HQ.

How it actually starts

We make it embarrassingly easy to say yes.

STEP 1

Fill in the form (or just email us)

Tell us roughly what you might want to do. "I have no idea" is a perfectly normal answer.

STEP 2

Coffee or a chat at the hut

No pitch. Just figuring out what fits — your skills, your time, your sanity.

STEP 3

Come to a Wednesday

Watch what we do. Help if you want. Vanish if it's not for you. No hard feelings.

Tell us you're interested

We'll come back within 48 hours — no obligation.

Not sure which role fits? Just say so. "I have no idea" is a perfectly normal answer — we'll figure it out over a cup of tea.
